Why I Created Daily Equilibrium
Daily Equilibrium began as a personal idea long before it became an app.
Like many people, I found myself trying to balance the demands of work, family life and my own personal challenges. During that time, I often returned to the principles of Occupational Balance that I had learnt and applied throughout my career. I realised that when I intentionally made time for the activities that truly mattered — not just work or responsibilities, but rest, relationships, movement and personal interests — I felt healthier, more resilient and better equipped to cope with life's challenges.
What started as a simple way of organising my own week gradually became something much bigger.
I created seven colour-coded areas that represented the different aspects of a balanced life. Each week, I would check that I had spent time in each area, helping me recognise where things had become out of balance and where small changes could make a meaningful difference.
More than ten years later, I still use this approach today.
It hasn't removed life's challenges, but it has helped me respond to them with greater resilience, perspective and self-awareness. Over time, it has become less about ticking boxes and more about creating a lifestyle that supports my health and well-being in a realistic and sustainable way.
Throughout my career, I've worked with people experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges. Although every person's story is unique, one thing became consistently clear: our everyday habits, routines and activities have a profound influence on how we think, feel and function.
Working as an Occupational Therapist taught me the value of meaningful activity and occupational balance. Later, training and practising as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist deepened my understanding of how our thoughts, emotions and behaviours continually influence one another.
Bringing these two perspectives together reinforced something I had already discovered personally — that lasting well-being isn't built through quick fixes or dramatic changes. It grows through small, consistent choices that become part of everyday life.
Daily Equilibrium was created to help make those choices easier.
My Mission
My mission is to make evidence-informed well-being practical, accessible and achievable for everyone.
Through Daily Equilibrium, I hope to help people better understand themselves, develop healthier routines and create meaningful, lasting change — one small step at a time.
Because I believe balance isn't something you find — it's something you create.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Daily Equilibrium. I hope it supports you in creating a healthier, more balanced life.
